Someone Get This Girl a Script...

Someone Get This Girl a Script...

from X-Files News by ROI_OLLSON@XFILESNEWS.COM (Roileigh Ollson - Managing Editor)

In true Chris Carter fashion, the truth about X-Files 3 is being kept secret, even from Scully herself. In an interview conducted today at the Television Critics Association Tour, Gillian said to Fox All Access that she doesn't know the status of the third film, but would love to read the script.

In a previous article, the Fox blog reported that the script was indeed being written, so perhaps she'll have a script in her hand sooner than she thinks...

To hear the audio interview, head over to Fox All Access, and be sure to tell them thanks for asking about XF3, especially after the fandom invaded their Facebook page.

Gillian's L.A. Appearances

Gillian's L.A. Appearances

from X-Files News by ROI_OLLSON@XFILESNEWS.COM (Roileigh Ollson - Managing Editor)

Tomorrow's event isn't Gillian Anderson's only reason for being in Los Angeles; this past week, Gillian made several television appearances promoting Moby Dick and SA-YES. If you weren't some of the lucky few Philes in L.A. who attended the tapings, we've got the next best thing.

The Tonight Show with Jay Leno aired tonight at 11:35pm ET with Gillian as it's headliner. She spoke aboutMoby Dick, her children, her accent, and her favorite swear words. You won't hear it on TV the way XFN heard it in person though, because the swear section was pretty colorful.

The interview went off without a hitch though, except maybe for the mouthful of hairspray she got during a commercial break. Check out this clip of her appearance, and watch out for the full episode that will soon be posted on the show's website.

Gillian also appeared on CBS' daytime show The Talk. It filmed earlier this week, but aired today at 2pm ET. To watch the full episode, head over here, but if you're low on time and would like to check out a quick X-Filessection, see the clip below.

2084

2084

from X-Files News by tiffany_devol@xfilesnews.com (Joselyn Rojas - Staff Reporter)

James Wong (The X-Files, Millennium, Final Destination, The Event) and Howard Gordon (24, Homeland) have paired up to give life to the 1948 dystopian fiction novel by George Orwell, 1984. The novel is considered one of the classic social science fiction works, ranking 13 on the list of the best English-language novels of the 20th century. For us Philes, the novel was the first to introduce popular conspiracy terms such as “Big Brother”, “doublethink”, “memory hole”, and even the adjective “Orwellian” has been coined to be used when referring to manipulation, surveillance and cover-ups by a totalitarian administration.

The project is set on doing a movie with Alloy Entertainment, and a young adult book series with the help of writer Gregg Rosenblum and HarperCollins publishing company. The movie plot consists of a world like in 1984 but with a Terminator touch. The 2084 story is set in the late 21st century, where robots turn over humankind and control every move of the population. The producers will be Leslie Morgestein and Bob Levy (both having worked on Pretty Little Liars, Gossip Girl and The Vampire Diaries), with Gordon and Wong conceiving the project and serving as Executive Producers.

Putting Pen to Paper in the UK

from X-Files News by ROI_OLLSON@XFILESNEWS.COM (Roileigh Ollson - Managing Editor)

He may not be based in Los Angeles anymore, but being across the pond in the UK hasn't stopped Frank Spotnitz from doing what he does best--writing.

Working on Morton for the BBC, Frank took some time out recently to talk about the differences between writing for British and American TV, the writers' room, and showrunning.

If you're based in the UK region, you can listen to the radio interview here. If not, don't give into that deep feeling of depression rising up inside you, we're working on getting the audio so that everyone can listen.

The date has been set for the US to get to see the new adaptation of the Herman Melville classic.  Encore will be screening this new 3-hour miniseries over two nights, starting at 8pm (ET/PT) on August 1st, concluding the following evening.

Believe in the Future Deadline Extended!

from X Files Latest News by tiffany_devol@xfilesnews.com (The XFN Team)

The worldwide campaign for a third X-Files feature film has been going strong since 2009 with the XF3 Army bringing together 32 countries on 6 continents as part of one massive fan effort.

In the early spring of this year, XFN launched a new effort as part of the Believe in the Future campaign: 10,013 Photos for a Greenlight. With several countries already submitting boxes of photos, thousands are beginning to accumulate at XFN Headquarters and with regional liaisons worldwide.

Several weeks ago, XFN received correspondence from a few regional liaisons requesting more time to collect photos due to ongoing fan events and upcoming conventions in their countries. Due to these ongoing events, and to ensure that as many philes can participate as possible, XFN is officially extending the deadline for 10,013 Photos for a Greenlight to November 1st for regional liaisons, and November 15th for XFN Headquarters.

A new delivery date has also been cleared with FOX for later this fall.

For a refresher course on what to do, head over to the Believe in the Future Campaign Headquarters and if you're looking for a little inspiration, check out XFN's 10,013 Photos for a Greenlight promo below. Don't Give Up.

Gillian Anderson has joined the cast of BBC's Great Expectations in the role of Miss Havisham.

In early June, BBC was still in talks with Ms. Anderson about wanting her for the role but she has now been listed as part of the cast on IMDb and her official site announced the news today.
