A Message From Frank Spotnitz

For those of you that are part of Biglight Social Network, you might have gotten a very special message from Frank Spotnitz today. For those of you that aren't (and why arent you?) here it is for you to read!

This is an incredibly exciting week for all of us at Big Light. As you probably already know, my new series, Hunted, premieres this Friday, October 19, at 10 p.m. on Cinemax.
I’m writing not just to invite you to watch, but also to ask you to send in your questions and comments and check the website often for updates, exclusive photos and other surprises. You are the community of fans who have been with me for many years now, and I’m most eager to hear from you what you think as Hunted unfolds over the next eight weeks.
In the meantime, if you haven’t checked out some of the other cool Hunted resources on the web, please do. The show’s lead character, Sam Hunter, works for a private intelligence firm called Byzantium. You can check out Byzantium’s website and take the mind-bending recruitment test at byzantiumtests.com. You’ll find videos – including a 13-minute sneak peek at the first episode – at cinemax.com/hunted. There are amazing communities already sprouting up at Reddit and GetGlue. Fans in the UK can check out the blog at BBC.co.uk. And, of course, there are Twitter feeds for #Hunted and @HuntedTVShow.
When I started this website back in 2004, I didn’t really know where it would lead. Eight years later, I've discovered that Big Light has allowed me to have conversations and friendships with thousands of fans across the planet. I’m incredibly honored and grateful for your support. So let me take this opportunity to say thank you and – as always – don’t give up!
Frank

Annabeth Gish Cast In FX Drama Pilot ‘The Bridge’

Demian Bichir is set as the male lead opposite Diane Kruger in FX’s drama pilot The Bridge, directed by Mexican director Gerardo Naranjo (Miss Bala). Also cast in the project, an adaptation of the Scandinavian series Bron/Broen, are Annabeth Gish and Ted Levine. The Bridge centers on two detectives from the United States and Mexico – El Paso Police Homicide Detective Sonya North (Kruger) and Marco Ruiz (Bichir) — who must work together to hunt down a serial killer operating on both sides of the American-Mexican border. Marco Ruiz is described as a family man and one of the last good men in a corrupt and apathetic police force that is outgunned by the powerful drug cartels. Gish will play Charlotte, a wealthy ranch wife suddenly widowed when her older husband suffers a massive heart attack while on the Mexican side of the border. She soon learns that her late husband had many shocking secrets. Monk alum Levine will play Sonya’s Lieutenant at the El Paso Open Police Department, a veteran cop with a weathered cowboy swagger.
CAA-repped Bichir was nominated for an Oscar this year for his lead role in A Better Life. This marks the Mexican-born actor’s second U.S. series following his stint on Showtime’s Weeds. Gish, repped by Innovative and Thruline Entertainment, recurs on ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars. Levine, managied by Robbie Kass, recently recurred on HBO’s Luck. The Bridge was adapted for American television by Meredith Stiehm (Homeland) and Elwood Reid (Hawaii Five-0) who executive produce alongside Carolyn Bernstein, Lars Blomgren and Jane Featherstone. The Bridge, a co-production of Shine America and FX Prods., begins production this fall in El Paso and Los Angeles.

Chris Carter to Produce New Series

Chris Carter will be producing a new Thriller Drama TV series titled The After. The project, produced in conjuction with independent TV studio Georgeville Television, will debut at MIPCON TV Market next week.
According to Deadline
Written by Carter, The After is a thriller which revolves around a mysterious, unexplained event. In the vein of The X Files, The After incorporates elements of science fiction, suspense, and real-world fear and paranoia. “Chris has woven his mythology magic within a very human, grounded story about the moment when we realize all of our worst fears about the world and its future,” said Georgeville CEO Marc Rosen, who co-founded the company earlier this year with Leon Clarance of Motion Picture Capital, the financing arm of Reliance Entertainment.
What does this mean? MIPCON TV Market is a showcase for new programming available to be sold to new markets, production companies and studios. The After will be available for all these industry consumers to be sold and possibly finding a spot where it could be part of a network that not only could continue its production but also put it on the airwaves.
