Gillian Anderson Pleads for 'Ghostbusters 3' Role

Gillian Anderson would like to go from tracking aliens to finding ghosts.
The X-Files alum took part in a Reddit AMA on Sunday, where she was asked whether she has any interest in the new all-female Ghostbusters reboot. Anderson didn't seem to be familiar with the upcoming Paul Feig-directed project but was enthusiastic about it.
"OH MY GOD, I just looked it up online," she wrote. "Paul Feig, cast me now! Start a Twitter petition! I'm free!!!!! I'm free I'm free and I'm funny, goddamnit!"

When someone offered to help drum up interest in the petition, Anderson responded: "MAKE IT HAPPEN!!"
Anderson, who has recently appeared on NBC's Hannibal and Crisis, was also asked whether any progress was being made on a third X-Files film. "Sorta kinda," she teased. "Keep your ears to the ground."
