Syfy's 'Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome' Casts Luke Pasqualino and Ben Cotton

via press release:

SYFY’S BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: BLOOD & CHROME CASTS LUKE PASQUALINO AND BEN COTTON

NEW YORK – January 27, 2011 – Syfy has announced that Luke Pasqualino (Skins - UK) and Ben Cotton(Hellcats, Riese) have been cast in Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome, the highly anticipated 2-hour pilot.  The all-new chapter in the Battlestar saga unfolds in the thick of the 10th year of the first Cylon war, as the battle between humans and a sentient robot race rages across the 12 colonial worlds.

Pasqualino will star as the young, talented fighter pilot William Adama, a recent Academy graduate who finds himself assigned to the newest Battlestar in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica.  Full of ambition and in pursuit of the intense action that the Cylon war promises, Adama quickly finds himself at odds with Coker (Cotton), the battle-weary officer to whom he reports.  With 45 days left in his tour of duty, Coker desires an end to battle just as much as Adama craves the start of it.  Though they clash at first, the two men forge an unlikely bond when a routine mission turns dangerous and becomes a pivotal one for the desperate fleet.

From the award-winning producers of Battlestar Galactica, this new action-packed chapter of the BSG canon was written by Michael Taylor from a story by David Eick, Taylor and Bradley Thompson & David Weddle.  David Eick will serve as executive producer.  Universal Cable Productions will produce the 2-hour pilot with Syfy, utilizing cutting edge CGI and virtual technology.

Chillpak Hollywood Hour #192

Chillpak Hollywood Hour #192

from Chillpak Hollywood Hour by Phil Leirness

On Martin Luther King Day, your friends in podcasting have a lot to discuss about the mean-spirited nature of much contemporary discourse, from Ricky Gervais’ controversial performance on the Golden Globes to the media feeding-frenzy and finger-pointing in the wake of the recent Tucson massacre. Phil Leirness also eats many healthy bites of delicious crow and humble pie as he discusses his feelings about some films he’s seen and a film he’s been offered to direct. Then, Dean and Phil compare notes on their shared theatrical experience in Orange County, they remember three great character actors, and they close the show by continuing to answer the question of how each of them might be “children of their times” (and places)!

XF3 Army Posters (Believe in the Future)

XF3 Army Posters (Believe in the Future)

from X-Files News by tiffany_devol@xfilesnews.com (Tiffany Devol)

It's time for philes to find their inner artist because Believe in the Future is embarking on an XF3 Army Poster campaign to rival any mailing campaign seen by a television or film fandom to date, including our own.

In November of 2009, XFN delivered thousands of Believe in the Future campaign postcards to Fox, pasted onto a huge banner with over 30 countries taking part.

This time around XFN is asking fans to design XF3 inspired film posters in 8 1/2 by 11 or 11 by 17 and to mail them to XFN headquarters in Los Angeles. From crayons to colored pencils, water colors to Photoshop, we want fans to come together again to prove once and for all that the truth is out there and it needs to be green-lit this year.

As a special treat, fan art blog The Geek Arts, is asking for philes to submit images of their XF3 poster artwork as a way to help promote fan art and the Believe in the Future campaign!

XFN is currently setting up regional liaisons to help spread the word and to collect posters for forwarding to XFN Headquarters in Los Angeles.

The poster campaign will run through mid to late July of this year with a new meeting planned with Fox to deliver posters by late summer.

For those of you ready to send posters now, send to XFN Headquarters at: 6712 Selma Ave #2, Los Angeles, CA 90028

As soon as we confirm this year's regional liaisons, we will be posting their information as well.

FOX All Access Loves the Philes

FOX All Access Loves the Philes

from X-Files News by ROI_OLLSON@XFILESNEWS.COM (Roileigh Ollson)

FOX All Access is a FOX blog which reports on entertainment news and hosts a two hour radio show. You may remember that they were one of the websites who carried the French TV Mag story back in November. And while the truth is still out there on XF3, FOX All Access has continued to show some love for the Philes.

In response to the rather numerous posts on their Facebook page from Philes wanting XF3, the site has agreed to ask David Duchovny about a third movie in an upcoming interview with him for Californication. They've also said:

We love you guys! Keep up the passion! You never know. Fans like you might be able to push FOX film to make it happen. Keep it up!

So it seems that all those pleas for another X-Files movie haven't fallen on deaf ears when it comes to FOX All Access. Seeing as they are a FOX blog, and FOX is who gives the green light...that could be important.

When their interview with David comes out, we'll be sure to update on that. But in the meantime, the site covers lots of other music, television, and movie news as well, so head over there and check out all the things they work hard to report. Plus, we kind of owe them for all the XF3 messages we make them read.
