Annabeth Gish in "Pretty Little Liars"

by ROI_OLLSON@XFILESNEWS.COM (Roileigh Ollson - Managing Editor)

As many of you may have heard, the lovely Annabeth Gish will be appearing in the upcoming season of ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars. The show is the epitome of the dark side of teenage drama, so playing the therapist for four confused teen girls could be pretty interesting.

Check out Annabeth in action as Anne Sullivan below. And let's hope she can find the Truth...

Gillian Anderson's New Projects

Great Expectations

You've seen Bleak House, so you thought you'd seen Gillian Anderson in Charles Dickens, but you certainly haven't seen what's headed our way. According to the UK's Daily Mail, Gillian is one of several actors in negotiations to star in a modern adaptation of Dickens' Great Expectations.

The three-part BBC drama would feature her as "a 'sexually charged and alluring' Miss Havisham in a radical television reworking" of the novel. "I was keep to have a younger Miss Havisham. I wanted a woman in her 40s who was a sexual charge and who still has those fires that run deep," said Sarah Phelps, the author of the new version.

Gillian is rumored to be the top choice for the role, and should negotiations pan out, filming would begin this July and the series would hit television over Christmas. For more details, check out the original article here, and we'll keep you updated should any of this become confirmed.

Sold

Sold, the human trafficking drama, has quietly been in the works for Gillian for some time; however, it looks like it's coming off the sidelines because filming will soon be getting underway in India. Gillian will be playing, "a photographer whose life accidentally gets intertwined with a girl who gets sold in Nepal. Gillian attempts to hunt down the girl, who is being transported to a brothel in India, and bust the trafficking network."

David Arquette is also set to appear in the film which could come out later this year according to IMDb. Filming was originally rumored to begin in November, but the latest article has it starting next month. Check that out here at The Times of India.

Broken News: David, Vince, and Laurie

Broken News: David, Vince, and Laurie

by ROI_OLLSON@XFILESNEWS.COM (Roileigh Ollson - Managing Editor)

    David Duchovny

Season four of Californication has wound down, but that doesn't mean that David Duchovny is out of the news. He recently wrapped up filming of Goats, and he's been featured in Dirt's list of the "Top 5 Hot Men 50 and Older." If you saw this last season of Californication, you're probably not surprised.

    Vince Gilligan

With the premier of Breaking Bad coming up this July, Vince Gilligan has been making the rounds to discuss his award-winning show. Season three went out with a bang (literally if you think about that gunshot), so season four promises to be even more intense. Check out this collection of interviews posted by AMC for more. Oh and when driving watch out for Walter White; he's a dangerous man behind the wheel...

    Laurie Holden

Another one of AMC's shows will also be premiering in the coming months. If you didn't think that Marita Covarrubias could take on zombies, then you obviously missed the amazing first season of The Walking Dead. In this article, Laurie talks about working with director Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption). Also check out this writeup for details on what her character Andrea will be up to next season--it'll tie you over until the October premier.

    Lance Henriksen's Human Credential

    Lance Henriksen's Human Credential

    by tiffany_devol@xfilesnews.com (Tiffany Devol)

David Duchovny stated in an interview once, when asked about the Mulder/Scully relationship, that Scully was Mulder's human credential.

For Lance Henriksen, his human credential is now in print.

Lance's long awaited biography, Not Bad for a Human, released on May 5th (his 71st birthday). As reviews began to pour in, XFilesNews had the opportunity to attend Lance’s first signing for the book at Dark Delicacies in Burbank this week and for nearly 3 hours, mingled with a crowd full of fans, writers, artists, directors, and actors who all came out to celebrate Lance’s work. Fans brought posters, DVD covers, CDs, paintings, props, and more to have signed with their copy of Lance’s book.

Also signing were co-author Joseph Maddrey (Nightmares in Red, White and Blue) and artists Steve Niles (30 Days of Night), Bill Sienkiewicz (Elektra, Marvel Comics), and Mike Mignola (Hellboy).

Robert Patrick (Terminator 2, The X-Files) was also on hand to offer his support.

Lance, ever the patient artist, smiled and really connected with each person in line and after signing, would stand to have his photo taken with each fan. XFN was floored with how honest and open he was in conversation, not only with us, but with every person in the building. Lots of people can write a book on life and how to get through it but with Lance, you get the distinct impression that he practices what he preaches.

“You’re part of my tribe,” he told me as I was covering the event as press for both XFilesNews and BacktoFrankBlack, and he meant it. “We’re all part of a tribe.”

Not Bad for a Human, written by Lance and Maddrey, follows the story of Lance’s incredible life, a story he hasn’t told until now. If you don’t shed a tear in the first 50 pages, then you’re not human.

Fans at the signing read the book while standing in line and by the time they got to Lance, what they knew of him before arriving was suddenly so much less important than what they knew of him in the first few pages of his book.

This was not just an actor. This was a man whose personal life story was so incredible, so unbelievable, that it inspired hope in every person in that room. What I thought would be an ordinary book signing with people standing impatiently in line waiting for their turn to tell the actor how in love with him they were, was nothing of the sort. What I saw that night was a room full of people who greatly admired the man as an actor, yet also admired the inspiration he has provided and continues to provide each of them. What I saw in there really was a tribe.

Perhaps Lance says it best on the back cover of his book.

“This isn’t just a book about me becoming an actor. It’s about all the people I’ve crossed paths with over the years…It’s about a lifelong process of becoming a human being.”

Purchase your copy of this incredible book today and look for XFN’s full review soon!

    Jodie Foster Talks 'The X-Files'

    by tiffany_devol@xfilesnews.com (Tiffany Devol)

In an interview today with Shocktillyoudrop while promoting her new film, The Beaver, Jodie Foster is asked about her work on The X-Files episode, "Never Again."

"I played a tattoo who speaks to somebody and tells them to kill people, through their arm! You know what? The X-Files was odd and I sure loved that show. So I'm sure that's, you know, I like oddness. I like fables, I like telling the movie through a fable almost like a short story fable, but still having there be a lot of authenticity and a lot of rawness to it." - Jodie Foster

Head over to Shocktillyoudrop to view the video complete with scenes from the episode!

The Beaver, starring Jodie Foster and Mel Gibson, opens in select cities on Friday.

Help 'X-Files: The Musical' Get Some Aliens!

Help 'X-Files: The Musical' Get Some Aliens!

by p_silva197@hotmail.com (Patricia Silva - Staff Reporter)

How would you like to participate in yet another moment in X-Files history? That's right, philes, the Colonel Mustard Amateur Attic Theater Company is asking for your help to put into action the most daring of X-Filesproject: a musical! You think Mulder and Scully can sing and dance while searching for the truth?

These guys have worked on 2 projects before and they want The X-Files: The Musical to be their biggest one! You know what that means: it means you gotta get those little legs moving, folks and help out!

The Colonel Mustard Company have always worked with little to no money on their projects because they believe this is about bringing joy and entertainment to the community. However, they want to do The X-Files justice and bring out the big guns. And for that, they need our help. They need to raise enough money to build their set and get this amazing project going by May 31st.

We all need to make our way to Nebraska this summer to see how this unveils. The show will have a 2-night run, August 19-20, 2011, and it will be free to the public. During their previous projects, a crowd of 450 people was their biggest turnout. This time, they are expecting more than 1,000 people to show up. What do you say, philes? Can we show them The X-Files is still the best and biggest crowd out there? Who knows, maybe this will be just another way of showing FOX we need a new movie!

For more information about how you can help and make donations, check out The Colonel Mustard.

    Mark Snow, Volume 2?

by ROI_OLLSON@XFILESNEWS.COM (Roileigh Ollson - Managing Editor)

Everyone has heard about the new 4 disc CD set of Mark Snow's X-Files music being released on May 10th by La-La Land Records. (In case you live under a rock though, check out info on that here.) Four full CDs filled with Mark Snow music is a dream come true for any Phile, but it seems that La-La Land is going a step further...

Set to release in 2012 is a second volume of Snow's X-Files music. So it seems that XF3 isn't the only thing we have to look forward to next year. La-La Land posted on Film Score Monthly's Forums that volume two is already in the works!

They also talk about what you can expect from volume one, which includes a 40 page booklet and 400 autographed copies of the box set. However, if that's still not enough, check out their posts on what tracks will be included here.

Until 2012 though, it looks like it's going to be a waiting game.

Thanks to Carmen for the heads up!
